INTERIOR ACCOMMODATIONS & LAYOUT:

Salon and Main Deck

Entering the salon from the aft cockpit, the Pacific Custom Marine entry door has both upper and lower glass panels that add to the natural light provided by the port and starboard side windows. The entry door is fitted with dogs and heavy gasketing for water-tight integrity. This and all exterior cabin doors are also fitted with “Phantom roller screens” integrated into the door frame valences.  The interior faces of each of the exterior doors are fitted with teak paneling.

Teak cabinet joinery including door and drawer faces of crown cut frame panels are incorporated throughout the interior.  Above, the overhead is a combination of white bead board panels framed in teak beams.  Teak overhead handrails run fore and aft along the centerline.  A custom dining table and coffee table of teak with maple burl inlay complement the interior joinerwork. The cabin soles are of teak and ebony, with oriental style area rugs placed on them, all of which creates an elegant dining and entertainment area.

On the port side a lounge settee is positioned for screen viewing and has a custom coffee table, with foot stool storage integrated into it on each end.  The coffee table has an inlaid maple burl top framed in teak.

Forward on the port side a staircase ascends to the pilothouse.  The stair railings are supported by fluted posts of teak, and the wainscoting panels are of molded teak.

Back to starboard, the galley is laid out at the forward salon transition.  The galley is practically apportioned with plenty of working space for two.  The appliances are very high quality, and there is plenty of storage for extended time onboard with guests.

Opposite the galley to port there is an alcove with a Dutch door out to the port side deck and a pantry, just aft of the alcove is a series of steps leading up to the pilothouse, and just forward is another series of steps leading down to the two guest cabins, utility room, and engine room.  A passageway forward of the galley to port leads down an easy four-step transition to a landing, then down to the lower deck, and also forward to the full beam master stateroom.  The master head is forward of the master stateroom.

Down one deck, and generally between station 3 and station 6, there are two guest cabins one with head ensuite and the other with head and shower forward in the hallway.  The entrance to the engine room is through the port guest cabin, which is designed to be an office or guest cabin, has a work desk convertible for sleeping.

Access to the pilothouse is from the port side of the salon/galley area up a stairway.  The pilothouse includes two Stidd helm chairs, command console and a raised U-shaped dinette aft of the helm chairs and day head.  Inside the pilothouse to port, steps up provide interior access to the flybridge.

Interior Comfort Detail:

As in the standard Nordhavn approach, there are extensive noise control and sound attenuation measures incorporated into the construction throughout, including noise damping in the hull in the area of the propeller, 3” lead/foam insulation in the engine room overhead, and 2” in its sides.  Insulation is covered with Soundown aluminum panels.  The salon and galley soles also have a 2” Nida-core system between top and bottom layers of ¾” plywood.  There are also insulated bulkheads in living areas and rubber gaskets fitted to laminated interior doorjambs.

The main engine dry exhaust system results in engine sound reduction on deck as well as in the interior living spaces.

 Main Salon:

Immediately starboard aft in the salon are a Sub-Zero wine refrigerator, and Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer separated by a bank of drawers with custom glass storage.   Storage lockers line the starboard side except for the center TV lift area.

A beautiful custom dining table and six teak chairs are situated to starboard.

A settee lounge and coffee table are located to port.  The salon layout creates a wide-open  feeling.  The teak and ebony sole is accented with oriental area rugs.  There are custom roller shades for UV protection tucked up into the teak valances on all windows. There are also Roman Shades for décor in addition to the roller shades.

A Sony 42” flat screen TV is installed on a lift in the joiner work on the starboard side.  A custom sound system completes the salon entertainment components.

Master Stateroom and Head:

It is an easy transition from the salon and galley area to the full-beam master stateroom and head.  The king-size bed is on centerline and there is unimpeded access all around the bed, and to the storage areas.  The master stateroom includes the following features:

  • Night stands on either side of bed with maple burl tops
  • White beadboard overhead panels framed in varnished teak beams

Guest Staterooms and Heads:

Two guest staterooms are located on the lower deck down from the salon.  The port one has a large work desk convertible to a (queen) size bed using a storage cabinet insert into the seating area.

Also included in the port guest stateroom layout are the laundry facilities including full-size Meile Washer and Dryer, and overhead hanging clothes rod, all concealed behind louvered doors.

The associated head is located just forward in the lower hallway and includes a shower, tile floor, granite countertops and exhaust blower.

To starboard, the (VIP) guest stateroom has a queen bed, with head and shower ensuite.

There is a TV and Blu-ray DVD player in the port guest cabin.

Each stateroom incorporates the classic joinery detail of the salon and pilothouse.

Each stateroom contains its zone heat and air-conditioning controls.

GALLEY

The accompanying photo depicts a galley layout with plenty of workspace.  Its position relative to the salon provides a very social connection between the two areas, although the terraced counter conceals the work surfaces behind it when viewed from the salon.

The galley is well appointed with the following high-quality appliances and equipment:

  • Custom granite counter tops with radiused edges
  • Sub-Zero #700 TCI refrigerator with refrigerator drawers incorporated as well, teak panel faces, and custom positive latches for one-handed operation

PLUMBING

PLUMBING SYSTEMS:

Fresh water, black water, and grey water tanks are all constructed of vinylester resin laminated fiberglass formed over male molds to ensure that the interior surfaces are smooth to avoid trapping contaminants.  Each tank is fitted with a large inspection port and interior baffles.

Fresh Water System:

Fresh water capacity of 673 US gals. is split between two tanks and water distribution is directed via a stainless steel manifold in the forward machinery space.  The system has also been retrofitted with a very robust commercial pressure pump.

The galley is fitted with a Seagull X-1F water filter.  The system also includes a UV treatment system.

The system is also fitted with a polishing loop by which water can be filtered by circulating it from one tank to another, or back to the original tank, through a filter.

The hot water side of the system includes a 50 gal. Torrid water heater fitted with two heating elements – one at 1,500 watts and one at 4,000 watts, in addition to the ability to heat water via engine waste heat, and Olympia boiler system heat running through the hot water tank heat exchanger.

The hot water system also has an integrated re-circulation pump system to minimize the time and water usage required for delivery to each fixture in the living spaces.

Gray Water System:

The gray water tank capacity is 150 gallons.  It is plumbed to accept shower, sink, and other water where required, or may also be discharged overboard where permitted.

Black Water System:

The toilets throughout the interior are Tecma “Silence-plus” macerating type.  Normal operating configuration would have the valves aligned to direct the discharge into the black water tank, which has a capacity of 150 gals.  In addition, the plumbing is configured so each toilet can also be discharged directly overboard where permitted.  The contents of the black water tank may also be configured to discharge overboard where permitted.

EXCLUSIONS

Artwork, photos, master stateroom head rug, some small galley appliances and galley equipment, some tools, personal items

Manufacturer Provided Description
The distinct styling of the 62 has been a Nordhavn hallmark for a dozen years, and the 68 captures the essence of her smaller sister. Yet it incorporates the latest thinking in design, systems and technology and packages it all into a beamier, heartier hull. And despite the size advantage, this vessel will just as easily be managed by a cruising couple without need for captain and crew. Stepping onto the boat, the massive size of the 21-foot wide expanse will be immediately felt. The 68 carries its beam further aft and has a higher freeboard forward, thus providing more room on the inside. Offered in both an asymmetrical and dual-walkaround layout, the huge saloon will be an ideal gathering area for when the boat plays host to larger groups. Meanwhile, cooking for the masses will be a snap in the big gourmet galley with such features as granite countertops and SubZero appliances. Because the 68 is an aft pilothouse model, the foredeck is open so there are deck hatches for lots of light and ventilation. This is especially noticeable in the sumptuous master stateroom. Located just two steps down and forward from the saloon/galley area, the bright and airy cabin offers its owners a pleasant haven for an afternoon nap or good night’s sleep. Guests will be treated to two luxurious staterooms located down a staircase just off the galley/saloon. Two heads – one ensuite – are swathed in granite and the finest fixtures. Situated just across the hall from the staterooms is the roomy, state-of-the-art engine room with its 6’2” ceiling. Purring along will be a 400-hp single Dietroit Diesel Series 60 14L engine that will drive forward the 180,000 lb. boat at a cruising speed of 9.5 kts.
