HERE IS A CHANCE TO OWN A VERY FINE, RESTORED WOOD GRAND BANKS 36 CLASSIC. OVER THE YEARS, THE OWNERS HAVE SPARED NO EXPENSE IN BRINGING HER BACK TO EXCELLENT CONDITION.
Worthy has been kept in freshwater and has always been kept under cover. She is well known in the Portland boating scene.
The exterior is in excellent condition. The house was recently painted. The teak trim was varnished. The interior is very clean. Come see for yourself.
Within the past two years:
- New stainless steel propulsion shafts, cutlass bearings, and “dripless” stuffing boxes were installed. The engines were aligned.
- Worthy’s seams were reefed and re-sealed. New bottom paint was applied.
Completed upgrades:
- Worthy’s decks were reefed and resealed
- Worthy makes use of a Coast Guard-approved Lectra-San treatment system. This convenient system uses salt water and battery-supplied electric current to produce an acid biocide in the treatment container.
- An electric pump was plumbed to the oil-draining plugs of both engines. A recent oil analysis revealed that both engines are in very good working condition.
- Fiddler’s Green marine services installed the recommended short-shaft raw-water pumps on both engines.
- Furuno model 1832 radar with a Furuno model PG-500/C-500 Integrated Heading Sensor/Fluxgate Heading Sensor was installed, along with optional ARP-10 Auto Plotter circuitry. This Furuno upgrade permits manual or automatic acquisition and tracking of up to 10 radar targets.
- A custom pedestal was built and installed for a new anchor windlass. Currently, Worthy carries a combined 200 feet of chain and 300 feet of rope as anchor rode.
